Wilkes Women's Swimming Splits Tri-Meet with Lycoming and Juniata; Burlew, Tutko Earn Wins
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University women's swimming team swam to a tri-meet split with visiting Lycoming College and Juniata College, fellow Landmark Conference members, on Saturday afternoon at the Wyoming Valley CYC. The Colonels defeated Lycoming 66-61 and lost 101-60 to Juniata.

Wilkes now stands at 5-8 overall this season after the tri-meet split.
Emma Burlew (Effort, PA/Pleasant Valley) placed first in a field of four swimmers in the 1,000 Freestyle with a time of 12:25.82 to earn the Colonels their first of three victories on the day.
Mina Tutko (Easton, PA/Easton Area) was the next to win a race as she topped a field of eight swimmers in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 27.41.
Brynn Ullerich (Omaha, NE/Marian) was third and
Audrey Cornell (Clarks Summit, PA/Abington Heights) sixth in the same event.
Burlew made it two individual race victories for herself and three for the team as she won the 500 Freestyle over a field of four. She reached the final wall in 0.01 seconds better than Maegan Jordan of Juniata at a time of 5:57.22.
In the 100 Freestyle, Tutko was second in a field of eight swimmers with a time of 1:01.65. Her teammates
Kiaya Daube (Scranton, PA/Holy Cross) and Cornell were fifth and sixth.
Ullerich was second of three swimmers in the 200 Back with a time of 2:35.78.
The team of Ullerich, Tutko, Burlew, and Daube opened the day swimming a time of 2:07.18 in the 200 Medley Relay.
The Colonels have their Alumni Meet next Saturday before returning to competition for the final meet before the Landmark Conference Championships against King's College on Saturday, February 3 at 11:00 a.m. in a meet hosted by their cross-town rival.
