Wilkes Women's Volleyball Falls to Lycoming in Three

WILKES-BARRE, PA - Lycoming's dominant attack spelled defeat for the Colonels in a Thursday night matchup, with the final score being 3-0.

The Warriors swept the Colonels with the scores of the three sets being 25-18, 25-17, and 25-7. Wilkes recorded a match high 11 kills in the first set as well as a match high in total attacks also in the first set with 33, but closely followed by 27 total attacks in the third set. Lycoming recorded 29 total kills over Wilkes' 20 and also recorded 12 aces. 

For the Colonels, Kendra Kalp (Somerset, PA/Rockwood) led the team in kills with six while Jenna Baron (Nanticoke, PA/Greater Nanticoke Area) followed with five. SIerra Hines had two aces as well as two blocks and Ava Wahlers (Coudersport, PA/Coudersport) also recorded two blocks of her own. Alexa Cassel (Mount Joy, PA/Lower Dauphin) had 15 assists and three digs and Lauren Lokuta (Mountain Top, PA/Holy Redeemer) tallied the team high in digs with nine. 

Wilkes women's volleyball will take to the court again at 12 p.m. tomorrow, October 19 to face number one ranked Juniata.
