Wilkes Women's Volleyball Drops Road Match at Delaware Valley
DOYLESTOWN, PA - The Wilkes women's volleyball team dropped a close match against Delaware Valley on Wednesday night with a final score of 3-1.
Delaware Valley took the first set 25-20, Wilkes won the second set 25-17 and the Aggies took the final two sets 25-23 and 25-16. As a whole, the Colonels recorded a .130 hitting percentage, 10 digs, 38 assists and 43 kills.
Sierra Hines (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Holy Redeemer) led the team in kills with 11, followed by Ally Sheridan (Hanover Township, PA/Hanover Area) and Jenna Baron (Nanticoke, PA/Greater Nanticoke Area) with nine each. Alexa Cassel (Mount Joy, PA/Lower Dauphin) led in assists with 28, and Kendra Kalp (Somerset, PA/Rockwood) recorded the most digs with 15, followed closely by Annalyse Santowasso (Middlesex, NJ/Rutgers Prep) with 14. Hines also led the team in total blocks with 2.5 as well as in points with 13.5. Cassel and Rachael Anderson (Canmore, AB/West Island College) each recorded two service aces.
The Colonels will return home for their next match this Friday, November 1 as they take on Goucher College at 7 p.m.
