Wilkes Men's Soccer Falls to Goucher 2-1 in Final Game of the Season

BALTIMORE, MD - The Wilkes men's soccer team concluded their season against Goucher this afternoon with a 2-1 loss.

The Knights opened the scoring in the 17th minute with a goal by Jonathan Alvarado with the assist by Tre Byrd. The Colonels responded in the 29th minute with a goal by Kendall Heck (West Wyoming, PA/Wyoming Area High School), hist first goal of the season. Elijah Emedoh-Kaba (Gilbertsville, PA/Boyertown Area) was credited with the assist. Alvarado added a second goal for Goucher in the 77th minute of the game to give the Knights the lead.

Goucher out shot Wilkes 17 to five, and tallied 10 shots on goal compared to Wilkes' three. Heck, Joseph Jackson (West Chester, PA/Bayard Ruston) and Nick Romas (Collegeville, PA/Perkiomen Valley) each had a shot on goal during the game. Will Wagstaff (Allentown, PA/Parkland) and Grant Harman (Manassas, VA/Osbourn Park) also had shots for Wilkes. In goal for the Colonels, Matthew Conti (Florence, NJ/Florence Township Memorial High School) recorded eight saves on 10 shots on goal. 

The Wilkes men's soccer team had an overall record of 4-15-1 and a conference record of 1-8.
