Wilkes Women's Soccer Closes Out Season With 2-0 Win at Goucher
BALTIMORE, MD - The Wilkes women's soccer team closed out their season against Goucher on Saturday with a 2-0 win against the Gophers.
The Colonels opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a goal by Taylor Anthony (Middlesex, NJ/Middlesex), her second of the season. Madison Straub (Franklin, NJ/Franklin) followed up with a goal in the 26th minute, with Ava Young (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown West) recording the assist. In total, Wilkes recorded 17 shots with 11 of them being on goal compared to Goucher's five total shots with just two being on goal.
Sarah Eliff (Owings, MD/Northern) led the team in shots on goal with three, followed by Anthony and Holly Feese (State College, PA/State College Area) who each had two. Jess Shea (Somerset, NJ/Franklin), Katie Sites (Collegeville, PA/Spring-Ford Area) and Straub each tallied one goal apiece. Wilkes also had eight corner kick opportunities over Goucher's two. In goal, Delaney Yaracs (Butler, PA/Butler) recorded two saves on the two shots on goal for the Colonels.
The Wilkes women's soccer team concluded their season with an overall record of 5-10-3 and a conference record of 2-5-2.
