Wilkes Women's Swimming Falls in Saturday Tri-Meet

WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Wilkes women's swim team fell in a home tri-meet on Saturday against Goucher and Lebanon Valley College.

The Colonels fell to Goucher by a score of 140-66, and to Lebanon Valley with a score of 150-59. Wilkes posted one first place finish as well as two second place finishes in today's meet.

Emma Burlew (Effort, PA/Pleasant Valley) placed first in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:14.83 and came in second in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 6:08.75. Grace Cobb (Athens, PA/Athens Area) finished second in the 200 yard freestyle at 2:18.76. The Colonels finished in second in the 400 yard freestyle relay with a time of 4:10.72. On the relay for Wilkes was Burlew, Lea McCormick (Northumberland, PA/Shiekellamy), Cobb, and Brynn Ullerich (Omaha, NE/Marian).

The Colonels will be hosting another home tri-match next Saturday, November 9. They will face Stevenson and King's with a start time set for 1 p.m.
