Wilkes Women's Swim Competes in Day One of the Electric City Invitational

SCRANTON, PA - The Wilkes women's swim team participated in the first day of the Electric City Invitational on Saturday, recording four top ten finishes.

The schools competing in the invitational along with Wilkes are King's, Messiah, Lycoming, Scranton, Cedar Crest College, and SUNY Oneonta.

In the 200 yard freestyle relay, the Colonels placed sixth with a time of 1:48.74. On the relay were Byrnn Ullerich, Lea McCormick (Northumberland, PA/Shiekellamy), Emma Burlew (Effort, PA/Pleasant Valley) and Grace Cobb (Athens, PA/Athens Area). In the 200 yard IM, Ullerich finished tenth with a time of 2:30.99. 

The Colonels finished in seventh in both the 200 and 400 yard medley relay, recording a time of 2:05.78 in the 200 yard and 4:37.99 in the 400 yard. On the relays were Ullerich, Cobb, McCormick and Burlew.

The Wilkes women's swim trip will finish out the meet tomorrow morning.
