Wilkes Women's Swimming Defeat King's, Fall to Stevenson in Home Tri-Meet
WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Wilkes women's swim team split its home tri-meet on Saturday against King's and Stevenson.
The Colonels defeated King's 111-14 and fell to Stevenson 141-84. Wilkes recorded six first place finishes and one second place finish.
Lea McCormick (Northumberland, PA/Shiekellamy) finished first in the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:13.11 and Brynn Ullerich (Omaha, NE/Marian) finished first in the 100 yard backstroke at 1:09.69. In the 100 yard breaststroke, Emma Burlew (Effort, PA/Pleasant Valley) came in first with a time of 1:20.20 and McCormick finished second in the 50 yard freestyle at 28.04.
In the 100 yard freestyle, Burlew placed first with a time of 1:01.97 as well as in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 6:08.73. The Colonels came in first in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:54.53. On the relay was McCormick, Ullerich, Burlew and Grace Cobb (Athens, PA/Athens Area).
The Colonels will be competing next at the Electric City Invitational at Marywood on November 22-24.
