Wilkes Women's Basketball Falls to Juniata on the Road
HUNTINGDON, PA - The Wilkes women's basketball team dropped a road contest on Saturday against Juniata. The final score of the game was 40-64.
Leading in points for the Colonels was Emma Stout (Bangor, PA/Bangor) with nine, followed by Reagan Holden (Wilkes-Barre, PA/Wilkes-Barre Area) and Maliyah Warren (Phoenixville, PA/Phoenixville) with seven. Nadia Evanosky (Dallas, PA/Dallas) led in rebounds with eight as well as in assists and steals with two. Holden also recorded two steals and assists during the game. Holden shot 3-7 from the field and Stout was 3-6 on three point shots. Warren went 3-4 from the free throw line.
The Colonels out scored the Eagles in the second and third quarters but were unable to take the lead. As a team, Wilkes shot 14-48 from the field, 5-21 on three point shots, and 7-13 from the free throw line. 10 points were scored off of turnovers, seven came off second chance points, 20 came from bench points and 16 points were scored in the paint.
The Colonels will be taking on Keystone next Saturday, December 14 at home. The game is set to begin at 3 p.m.
