ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – The Wilkes University women's swimming team finished hit the pool for the last time in 2024 as they competed against fellow Landmark Conference squad Elizabethtown College at Alumni Pool on Saturday.

Meghan Sandt (Easton, PA/Easton Area) picked up the team's first win of the day in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:16.33. Lea McCormick (Northumberland, PA/Shiekellamy) and Emma Burlew (Effort, PA/Pleasant Valley) were also victorious as a part of the team that won the mixed 100 freestyle relay with Owen Lewis and Ashton Dainty with a time of 47.13.

McCormick had a strong day for the Colonels, finishing second in the 50 free with a 27.61 time and third in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:20.11. Burlew finished third in the 50 free with a time of 27.93.

Wilkes hits the pool again in the new year as they host Misericordia University on Sunday, January 12 at the Wyoming Catholic Youth Center (CYC) at 11:00 a.m.
