Wilkes Women's Swimming Places Ninth at First Landmark Conference Championships
BALTIMORE, MD – The Wilkes University women's swimming team completed its first trip to the Landmark Conference Swimming & Diving Championships at the Mangione Aquatic Center on the campus of Loyola University Maryland on Sunday. The Colonels placed ninth place out of 10 teams with 96 total team points.

Emma Burlew (Effort, PA/Pleasant Valley) swam the 1650 Freestyle in the Finals, placing 15 of 23 swimmers with a time of 20:12.10.
In the 400 Freestyle Relay to close the championships the team of Burlew,
Kiaya Daube (Scranton, PA/Holy Cross),
Mina Tutko (Easton, PA/Easton Area), and
Brynn Ullerich (Omaha, NE/Marian) placed eighth of 10 teams with a time of 4:01.50 which was nearly 25 seconds faster than their seed time.
In the preliminaries Sunday morning, Ullerich placed 20th of 26 swimmers in the 200 Backstroke with a time of 2:31.16 which was over four seconds faster than her seed time.
Tutko was 21st of 35 swimmers in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 1:01.76. Daube was 26th in the event, finishing in 1:07.27 which was over one second better than her seed time.
The University of Scranton placed first to take the team championship with 848 team points.
Wilkes concluded its 2023-24 season in which the team set a program record with seven dual meet wins.
