Wilkes Women's Tennis Opens Spring Season with 7-2 Loss Against Bloomsburg
KINGSTON, PA – The Wilkes University women's tennis team opened its 2024 spring season falling 7-2 against Division II Bloomsburg University Saturday afternoon at TK Academy.
Wilkes fell to 1-2 overall following the home defeat while Bloomsburg improved to 3-1 on the season.
The duo of
Ava Vacula (Exeter, PA/Wyoming Area Secondary Center) and
Karlee Yuscavage (Hanover Twp., PA/Hanover Area) were the lone winners for the Colonels in doubles play winning 8-6 at No. 3.
Zoe Klein (Southbury, CT/Pomperaug) secured the line singles win for Wilkes taking her No. 3 singles match over Juliana Kim 6-3, 2-6, 10-2 in three sets.
Wilkes returns to the court next Saturday hosting Albright College at 12:00 p.m. at TK Academy.
