Wilkes Men's Lacrosse Falls on the Road to Moravian 13-3
 
BETHLEHEM – The Wilkes men's lacrosse team dropped their road contest to Moravian University 13-3 in the program's first Landmark Conference matchup.
 
Wilkes fell to 3-5 on the season and opened Landmark play at 0-1. Moravian evened out their record at 4-4 and entered conference play at 1-0.
 
The Greyhounds set the tone in the first quarter with five consecutive goals to take a 5-0 lead after the first 15 minutes of action.
 
In the second quarter, Moravian piled on three more goals. The hosts entered halftime with a 8-0 lead. After 30 minutes, the Greyhounds outshot Wilkes 30-7 while Joseph Marino (Swedesboro, NJ/Kingsway Regional) made seven saves in net.
 
After Moravian scored to open the third quarter, Colby Opromolla (Patterson, NY/Carmel) netted his twelfth of the season with an unassisted man-up goal that made the score 9-1 at 5:22. Less than a minute later, Tim Hartka (Phoenix, MD/Calvert Hall) ripped his own twelfth of the season to cut the deficit to seven. Austin Sosnovik (New Tripoli, PA/Northwestern Lehigh) picked up a helper on the 9-2 goal at 4:49.
 
Moravian stopped the bleeding in the fourth quarter with three unanswered goals to bring their lead up to 12-2. Austin Seams tallied his fourth of the season with 1:45 left in regulation to cut into the hosts' lead, however the Greyhounds tacked on one more man-up goal to close out their 13-3.
 
Opromolla, Hartka and Seames all recorded goals while Michael Rauch (Jackson, NJ/Jackson) and Brendan Keegan (Middletown, NY/Pine Bush) scooped up five ground balls each. In net, Marino totalled 15 saves.
 
Trevor Dzama scored three goals and six assists for nine points. He split the team lead in shots with Vincent Devito, as both players recorded eight. Liam Kelly and Sean Boyer combined for seven saves in net for the Greyhounds.
 
The Colonels return home to Schmidt Stadium on Thursday, March 28 when they host Juniata at 7:00 p.m.
