Wilkes Men's Golf Finishes First at King's Tri-Match
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University men's golf team took home first place in a tri-match hosted by King's College that included Landmark Conference opponent Lycoming College Wednesday afternoon at the Wyoming Valley Country Club.
Wilkes shot a team score of 316 on way to first place. King's finished second with a 337 team score while Lycoming rounded out the team scoring with a 347 and third place.
Matthew Carlson (Delmar, NY/Albany Academy) topped all finishers earning medalist honors carding a round-low 76. Mac Cocchi and
Cole Jungwirth (Bloomington, MN/Thomas Jefferson) each shot a 79 while
Trevor DuBoff (Stony Point, NY/North Rockland) posted an 82.
Daniel Nau (Wake Forest, NC/Heritage) rounded out the Colonel participants with a 90.
Will Ebers led Lycoming with a 77 while JP Gilroy post a team-best 80 for host King's.
The three teams will compete again in a tri-match this time hosted by the Colonels at Huntsville Golf Club Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
