Wilkes Men's Golf Ties Lycoming, Falls Against King's in Tri-Match
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University men's golf team compete in a tri-match host by King's College on Wednesday afternoon at the Wyoming Valley Country Club. The Colonels shot a team score of 351, tying Lycoming College and falling to host King's who finished with a team score of 334.
Cole Jungwirth (Minneapolis, MN/Thomas Jefferson) led the Colonels scorers carding an 81.
Trey Hilbert (Palmyra, PA/Palmyra) followed shooting an 83 while
Matthew Carlson (Delmar, NY/Albany Academy) totaled an 86.
Brennan Reiner (Altamont, NY/Guilderland) (101) and
Sam Hopkins (Honesdale, PA/Honesdale) (105) rounded out the Wilkes competitors in the tri-match.
Lycoming's Will Eberz earned medalist honors shooting a round-low 74. JP Gilroy topped King's with an 80.
Wilkes is back in action on Saturday when the Colonels host King's in a dual match at Huntsville Golf Club.
