Wilkes Women's Cross Country Second at Cougar Classic
DALLAS, PA – The Wilkes University women's cross country team finished second of six teams at the Cougar Classic hosted by Misericordia University at Letterkenny Fields Saturday afternoon.
The Colonels finished with 67 team points in the 6k race with two top-15 finishers.
Ava Bailor (York, PA/Red Lion) continued to impress in her first season with a ninth place finish at 26:50.9.
Regan Metz (Berwick, PA/Berwick Area) followed in 15
th place with a time of 28:58.5 while
Mikayla Miller (Wyoming, PA/Dallas Area) finished 18
th at 29:18.7.
Courtney Negra (Colonia, NJ/Colonia) (27
th/32:04.7) and
Mara Adams (Mehoopany, PA/Tunkhannock Area) (28
th/32:21.3) rounded out the Wilkes finishers at the event.
Grace Gallagher led all runners in first place with a time of 23:22.5.
Host Misericordia earned the top spot with 15 team points taking on the top seven spots in the event.
The Colonels are idle for two weeks before returning to the course Saturday, September 28 when they run at the Lock Haven Open/Invitational at West Branch Cross Country Course at 10:00 a.m.
