Wilkes Men's Swimming Overpowers Moravian 113-20
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Wilkes University men's swimming team cruised to win in their final dual meet of the regular season, defeating Moravian 113-20 at Liberty High School's Memorial Pool on Friday evening.

The Colonels won 10 events of the meet, with
Jacob Piotrowski (Old Bridge, NJ/Old Bridge) and
Caleb Keener (Shrewsbury, PA/Susquehannock) leading the team with two individual wins. Piotrowski claimed the top step in the 200-yard free (2:00.85) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:07.95), while Keener won the 200-yard IM (2:19.02) and the 500-yard free (5:38.28).
Alton Smargiassi (Bloomsburg, PA/Central Columbia) won the 100-yard butterfly in 57.85, while
Ashton Dainty (Scranton, PA/Scranton) took the 100-yard free in 52.69.
Leo Miller (Oak Forest, IL/Oak Forest) won the 100-yard backstroke in 1:02.55 and
Owen Lewis (Ellicott City, MD/Howard) won the 50-yard free in 22.57.
Luke Donato (Westerly, RI/Westerly) and Smargiassi finished that event in second and third, rounding out the podium for the Colonels.
Wilkes also won two relay races, with the team of Miller, Lewis, Donato, and
John Falcone (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) claiming the 200-yard medley in 1:48.63 and the team of Lewis, Dainty, Donato and Miller winning the 200-yard free in 1:33.37.
The Colonels now shift their focus to the Landmark Swimming and Diving Championships from February 13-16 at Loyola University's Mangione Aquatic Center.
