Wilkes Women's Golf Sweeps Tri-Match with Moravian and Marywood
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University women's golf team pushed its win streak to eight matches as the Colonels swept both Moravian University and Marywood University in a home tri-match at the Wyoming Valley Country Club Sunday afternoon.
Wilkes finished the fall season with a program-record 10-1 mark in match play.
Battling over 35 mph winds, Wilkes finished first with a total team score of 398. Moravian finished second at 417 while Marywood took third at 423.
Kyleen McCance (Hanover, PA/Hanover Area) earned medalist honors again carding a seven-over 79.
Isabella Rebar (Eynon, Pa./Valley View) followed shooting a 105 while
Madison Mendrzycki (Mountain Top, PA) posted a 106.
Sydnee Macdonald (Olyphant, PA/Mid Valley) finished with a 108 and
Audrey Milne (London, ON/) rounded out the group with a 116.
Heidi Wegscheider topped Moravian finishing second overall carding a 91. Marywood's Megan Rickaby was the top Pacers finisher in third place with a 92.
The Colonels remain idle until next weekend (Saturday and Sunday) when they compete at the Landmark Conference Fall Preview at the Shawnee Golf Course.
