Wilkes Women's Swimming and Diving Defeats Goucher 85-70
BALTIMORE, Md. – The Wilkes women's swimming and diving team traveled to Goucher College where they defeated the Gophers 85-70 Saturday afternoon.
Wilkes improves to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play while Goucher falls to 0-6 overall and 0-2 in conference.
Grace Cobb (Athens, PA/Athens Area) opened the scoring for Wilkes taking first in the 1000-yard freestyle while
Izzy Sparaco (Macungie, PA/) and
Meghan Sandt (Easton, PA/Easton Area) took second and third place respectively in the 200-yard freestyle.
Emma Burlew (Effort, PA/Pleasant Valley) took the top spot in the 50-yard freestyle as
Lea McCormick (Northumberland, PA/Shiekellamy) finished first in the 100-yard freestyle.
Ullerich and Burlew also found the top spot in the 200-yard backstroke and 200-yard breaststroke respectively, and the team of Sparaco, Sandt, Ullerich, and McCormick took first-place in the 400-yard freestyle relay to finish the meet for Wilkes.
The Colonels return to the pool Friday, November 21 for the Electric City Invite hosted at Marywood University that will take place all weekend.
