SCRANTON, Pa. – After leading on days one and two, the Wilkes University men's swimming and diving team finished the Electric City Invite on Sunday on top of the scoresheet, placing first of five teams.

The team of Max Johnson (Clarksburg, MD/Clarksburg), Leo Miller (Oak Forest, IL/Oak Forest), Jacob Piotrowski (Old Bridge, NJ/Old Bridge), and Tobias Misinay (Somerset, KY/Pulaski County) opened the day in fine fashion, winning the men's 800-yard freestyle relay in 7:35.90. Misinay then picked up an individual victory in the 200-yad breaststroke in 2:25.33. Alton Smargiassi (Bloomsburg, PA/Central Columbia) rounded out the day's winners in the 200-yard butterfly, finishing with a time of 2:07.62. Johnson finished third in the event with a time of 2:13.46.

Piotrowski finished third in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:06.44, with Max Wilson in the top five as well with a time of 2:09.66.

Owen Lewis (Ellicott City, MD/Howard) and Ashton Dainty (Scranton, PA/Scranton) represented the Colonels in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing third and fourth with times of 51.30 and 51.66 respectively.

The team closed out the day in the 400-yard freestyle relay, with the team of Lewis, Wilson, Misinay, and Dainty finishing second in 3:22.09. The team of Piotrowski, Johnson, Miller and Luke Donato (Westerly, RI/Westerly) finished fourth in 3:27.82.

Wilkes finished the weekend with 957 team points, besting second place finisher SUNY Oneonta who finished with 810 points.

The Colonels return to the pool on Saturday, December 6^th as they head to Misericordia University for a tri-meet with the Cougars and Ramapo College at 1:00 p.m.
