WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University men's wrestling team opened its 2025-26 dual campaign with a 46-3 defeat against No. 2 The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) Friday night at the Marts Center.
 
The Lions, ranked No. 2 in the country, used extra-point wins in all nine of their victories including two falls, six technical falls and one major decision.
 
Jaryn Hartranft (Catasauqua, PA/Catasauqua) took home the lone win for the Colonels with a thrilling 5-4 decision. Trailing 4-2 in the third period, Hartranft used a takedown late in the period before holding on for the win riding out the final 32 seconds without giving up the escape.
 
The Colonels are back on the mat next Saturday, November 15 when they host the first Wilkes Invitational at 9:30 a.m. at the McHale Athletic Center.
