Max Johnson (Clarksburg, MD/Clarksburg) led the way for the Colonels by winning two of the four events he participated in. He started by taking the top spot in the 200 yard freestyle with a 1:53.46, and then took second place in the 200 yard butterfly. Afterwards, he won the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:19.33, and finished his day by competing in the 200 yard freestyle relay with Caleb Keener (Shrewsbury, PA/Susquehannock), Alton Smargiassi (Bloomsburg, PA/Central Columbia), and Jack DeLuca (Easton, PA/Moravian Academy).

Smargiassi was the only other Colonel to earn a first place finish as he beat out Johnson for the top spot in the 200 yard butterfly with a 2:15.83. Despite that there were other crucial performances that propelled Wilkes to the sweep.

Jacob Piotrowski (Old Bridge, NJ/Old Bridge) finished second in both the 100 and 200 yard backstroke with times of 57.42 and 2:06.65, respectively. Max Wilson earned two second place finishes in the 100 yard freestyle (51.64) and the 100 yard butterfly (58.11), but also third in the 100 yard backstroke (57.70).

Individually, Leo Miller (Oak Forest, IL/Oak Forest) and Owen Lewis (Ellicott City, MD/Howard) each finished second in one event. Miller did so in the 200 yard freestyle just behind Johnson, while Lewis did it in the 50 yard freestyle. The two were also teammates in the 200 yard freestyle relay alongside Luke Donato (Westerly, RI/Westerly) and Ashton Dainty (Scranton, PA/Scranton), taking second place with a 1:33.57 to help secure the close win over Stevenson.

Wilkes returns to Maryland next weekend on Saturday, Nov. 15 for a Landmark Conference clash with the Goucher College Gophers. The meet begins at 1 p.m.
