Wilkes Women's Swimming and Diving Splits Stevenson Tri-Meet
STEVENSON, Md. – The Wilkes women's swimming and diving team split Stevenson tri-meet this Saturday, falling to the host 162-74, and besting King's College 162-40.
Wilkes moves to a 3-2 overall record while Stevenson improves to 5-2 overall, and Kings falls to 0-10 overall.
The team of
Brynn Ullerich (Omaha, NE/Marian),
Lea McCormick (Northumberland, PA/Shiekellamy),
Izzy Sparaco (Macungie, PA/), and
Emma Burlew (Effort, PA/Pleasant Valley) opened the tri-meet coming in second for the 200-yard medley relay just three minutes behind the Mustangs.
Grace Cobb (Athens, PA/Athens Area) continued the scoring for Wilkes finishing third for the 1000-yard freestyle while McCormick found herself in the top three for multiple events including the 200-yard freestyle (2nd) and the 200-yard butterfly (3rd).
Burlew found the top spot in the 100-yard breaststroke and 100-yard freestyle with times of 1:19.53 and 59.51 respectively. Sparaco placed in three different events including the 50-yard freestyle (2nd), 100-yard freestyle (2nd), and the 100-yard freestyle (2nd).
Pearl Hunter (York, PA/Northeastern), Cobb,
Emma Miller (Wyoming, PA/Dallas), and
Meghan Sandt (Easton, PA/Easton Area) closed the meet with a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a final time of 2:00.15
The Colonels hit the road again as they travel to Marywood University for the Electric City Invitational on Saturday, November 15 at 11:00 a.m.
