Wilkes Men's Swimming and Diving Suffers First Setback in Misericordia Tri-Meet
 
DALLAS, Pa. – The Wilkes men's swimming and diving team suffered their first defeats of the 2025-26 season Saturday afternoon, falling to Ramapo College of New Jersey 138-108 and host Misericordia University 159-83 in a tri-meet Saturday afternoon.

Owen Lewis (Ellicott City, MD/Howard) was the lone Colonel to win an event on the day, topping the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.48. Lewis also finished as a medalist in the 50-yard breaststroke (30.22) and as a part of the 200-yard medley relay team (1:42.78), finishing third in both events.

Four Colonels finished runner-up on the day, with Ashton Dainty (Scranton, PA/Scranton) second in the 50-yard backstroke (27.13), Jacob Piotrowski (Old Bridge, NJ/Old Bridge) second in the 100-yard backstroke (58.46), Tobias Misinay (Somerset, KY/Pulaski County) grabbing the silver spot in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:05.80), and Max Wilson second in the 100-yard freestyle (51.32). Wilson also finished third in the 100-yard IM with a time of 58.52.

Max Johnson (Clarksburg, MD/Clarksburg) also had a top-three finish, placing third in the 500-yard freestyle (5:18.09) and fourth in the 200-yard freestyle (1:57.07).

In the last event of the day, the 200-yard freestyle relay, the team of Leo Miller (Oak Forest, IL/Oak Forest), DJ Hammond (Stone Mountain, GA/Stephenson), Wilson, and Luke Donato (Westerly, RI/Westerly) finished third with a time of 1:36.91.

Wilkes takes to the pool again in the new year, as they host the University of Scranton and Lebanon Valley College for a tri-meet on Saturday, January 10 at 1:00 p.m.
