Swain's Late Game-Winner Lifts Wilkes Men's Ice Hockey Over Arcadia 2-1
 
COLMAR, PA – With the game tied at one with just under five minutes left in the third period, Nick Swain (Jackson, NJ) notched the game-winning goal to lift visiting Wilkes University to a 2-1 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) victory over Arcadia University on Saturday afternoon.
 
Wilkes improved to 14-7-2 overall and 14-3-2 in league games inching closer to capturing the No. 1 seed in the upcoming MAC Championship Tournament. Arcadia fell to 9-11-2 overall and 7-9-2 in conference contests.
 
Daniel Hodowanec gave the hosts an early 1-0 lead when he scored 1:48 into the first period. Cam Lowe (Lancaster, MA) answered six minutes later tying the game at one with a goal off assists from Patrick Roginski (Shelby Twp., MI) and Carter Jordan (Fort Collins, CO).
 
After the teams played a scoreless second period, Swain played hero notching his team-leading 11th goal of the season thanks to helpers from Joe Johnson (Midland, MI) and Max Cocchi (Ludlow, MA).
 
In a game played without a single penalty for either team, Arcadia held a slight 38-35 shot advantage while the Colonels won the faceoff circle claiming 28 draws.
 
Duncan Rolleman (New Hamburg, ON) notched the win in goal for Wilkes finishing with a season-high 37 saves. Hayden Williams finished with 33 stops in the defeat for the Knights.
 
Wilkes finishes the regular season this week with a pair of home games. The Colonels welcome King's College first on Friday at 5:00 p.m. at the Toyota SportsPlex before hosting Alvernia University in the regular season finale and senior day on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
