Wilkes Men's Volleyball Falls to Drew in Five
MADISON, NJ - The Wilkes men's volleyball team dropped a conference matchup against Drew Wednesday night, falling to the Rangers in five sets.
Wilkes took sets two and three by scores of 25-21 and 29-27 while Drew won sets one, four and five by scores of 25-15, 25-14, and 15-8.
Tonight's loss brings the Colonels overall record to 8-19 and their conference record to 0-5 while Drew increases to 4-23 overall and 1-4 in conference play.
Jackson Shafer (Milford, PA/Delaware Valley) led the team in kills, blocks, aces and digs with 11, five, two and 12. Joshua Conley (Chalfont, PA/Central Bucks South) led in assists with 21 followed by James Brust (Clarks Summit, PA/Abington Heights) with 15 along with eight digs. Lucas Mages (Buffalo, NY/Iroquois Central) recorded nine kills, one ace and two blocks while Aidan Hunter (Sinking Spring, PA/Wilson) also tallied nine kills and Sam Winter (Whitehouse Station, NJ/Hunterdon Central) had six digs.
The Colonels recorded 64 total kills and 150 total attacks while also outperforming the Rangers in aces with six compared to their two as well as coming close in digs with 47, just below Drew's 51.
The Colonels welcome Elizabethtown for their next match on Friday, March 28 with the game set to begin at 7 p.m.
