Wilkes Women's Tennis Blanks Mary Baldwin 7-0
HILTON HEAD, SC – The Wilkes University women's tennis team posted a 7-0 victory over Mary Baldwin University in a non-conference dual match on Wednesday night.
Wilkes remained unbeaten at 6-0 overall on the season following the dual match win.
The Colonels claimed the one point from doubles play thanks to a sweep.
Tea Amerise (Mountain Top, PA/Holy Redeemer) and
Sydney Farmer (Lacey Township, NJ/Lacey Township) continued their fine play in doubles taking an 8-2 win at No. 1.
Ava Vacula (Exeter, PA/Wyoming Area Secondary Center) and
Kensington Edmond (Mount Joy, PA/Donegal) won 8-0 at No. 2 and
Isabel Schreffler (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown West) and
Julia Spaeth (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg Area) claimed an 8-1 victory at No. 3.
Wilkes finished off the match with wins in all six singles flights. Amerise and Spaeth were 8-1 winners at No.1 and 2 respectively. Edmond won 8-3 at No. 3 while Schreffler, Farmer and
Emma Sanford (Las Vegas, NV/Arbor View) clinched the rest of the singles wins for the Colonels at No. 4 through 6.
