Wilkes Men's Lacrosse Falls to Catholic University on Senior Day
 
EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes men's lacrosse team finished their 2025 season at Schmidt Stadium on Saturday afternoon, falling to Catholic University 29-6 on Senior Day.

Wilkes finishes the season 4-13 overall and 1-8 against Landmark opponents, while Catholic improve to 8-9 on the year and 6-3 in conference play.

The visitors scored 14 unanswered goals in the first quarter of play, adding four more in the second before Tim Hartka (Phoenix, MD/Calvert Hall) capitalized on the man-up opportunity to put the Colonels on the board with five minutes remaining. One more Catholic goal saw the Cardinals take a 19-1 lead into halftime.

Stone Sosnovik (New Tripoli, PA/Northwestern Lehigh) opened the second half scoring with the team's second man-up goal of the day, assisted by Hartka. Catholic scored three more before Oscar Cline (New Paltz, NY/New Paltz) scored the final goal of the third quarter, taking a 22-3 score into the final frame.

After a Catholic goal to open the fourth, Hartka and Anthony DelDuca (Westchester, NY/Westlake) scored back-to-back goals to make it a 23-5 game, with the latter completing a hat-trick of assists for Austin Sosnovik (New Tripoli, PA/Northwestern Lehigh). One more man-up goal for S. Sosnovik with 3:47 left to play brought the Colonels to six goals but was ultimately not enough for the Colonels as they fell 29-6.

S. Sosnovik and Hartka led the Colonels with two goals each, while A. Sosnovik led the team with three assists. Goalkeeper Caleb Miller (Mohrsville, PA/Schuylkill Valley) led the team with six ground balls, with Nicholas McManus (Annandale, NJ/North Hunterdon) causing a team-high two turnovers. In goal, Nicholas DeVitis (Conshohocken, PA/Plymouth Whitemarsh) was given the decision making two saves, while Caleb Miller (Mohrsville, PA/Schuylkill Valley) made 13 in 40 minutes of play.

Billy Burton and Victor Rosado led Catholic with four goals, while Bailey Wallace had a team-high three assists. Ryan Macksoud led the defense with nine ground balls, while Liam Daily earned the win with two saves in 15 minutes of play.

Before the game, Wilkes honored the careers of seniors Joseph Kozlowski (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley), Jackson Casper (Bel Air, MD/Bel Air), DeVitis, and DelDuca as a part of the senior day festivities.
