WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Wilkes University women's lacrosse closed their season in the nation's capital Saturday afternoon, falling to Catholic University 25-2 at Carlini Field.

Wilkes completes the season with an 0-15 overall record and an 0-9 record against Landmark opponents. Catholic finishes the year 9-8 with an 8-1 conference record.

The hosts scored nine goals to open the game before Brooklyn Pedana (Pittston, PA/Pittston Area) put the Colonels on the board with her 23^rd goal of the season, assisted by Taylor Sparks (Monroeville, NJ/Woodstown).
Megan Bell (Waterloo, ON/St. David Catholic) then added an unassisted strike less than a minute later to make the score 9-2 with 4:48 to play in the first.

From there, the Colonels struggled to find more offense as hosts scored 16 unanswered to take a 25-2 victory.

Pedana and Bell led Wilkes with a goal each, with Sparks registering the lone assist. Sparks also led the team with three ground balls and three draw controls, matching Lily Zingaro (Collingwood, ON) in the latter category. In goal, Brooklynn Donia (Sewell, NJ/Washington Township) was given the decision, while Rissa Brazeau (Timmins, ON) made four saves.

Madeline Kelly led Catholic with four goals and ten assists, both team-highs. Lauren Bendo led the defense with five ground balls and three caused turnovers. In goal, Jamie Handwerger was given the victory.
