Wilkes Men's Soccer falls to Penn State Harrisburg 0-4


MIDDLETOWN, PA – The Wilkes men's soccer team traveled to Penn State Harrisburg Wednesday night where they fell to the Nittany Lions 4-0. 

The Colonels moved to a 0-3-1 overall record early in the 2025 season while the Nittany Lions improved to 2-3 on the season.

The Lions struck early in the first half giving them a one point advantage over the Colonels. Matthew Conti (Florence, NJ/Florence Township Memorial High School) contributed one save to keep the Lions to a 1-0 advantage to end the half. 

In the second half, Penn State added three more goals to finish the second half of play 4-0.

Luke Ferrarese (Bel Air, MD/Calvert Hall College) led the Colonels contributing 2 shots and 1 being on goal. Five other Colonels each provided one shot on goal to total seven shots on the night with six on goal.

Penn State Harrisburg goalkeeper, Ethan Smith,  provided six saves for the Lions while Andres Cantillo, Brandon Axton, William Kim, and Liam Gohn each had one goal for the night.

The Colonels travel to New London, CT Saturday, September 13, where they face the Mariners of Mitchell College at 2:00p.m.
