LOCK HAVEN - The Wilkes University women's cross country team competed in the Lock Haven University Open on Saturday morning, finishing in 11th place with a team score of 270 points.

Ashland finished first overall with 32 points, St. Bonaventure took second place with 66 points, and Pitt Club XC rounded out the podium with 117 points. 

Individually, Ava Bailor (Brogue, PA/Red Lion) was the top performer for the Colonels in the 6000m race. The sophomore finished with a time of 25:50.80, good enough for 29th place. Second on the team was Annabeth Glass (Douglassville, PA/Daniel Boone Area), who finished in 67th place with a 28:56.70 time.

Julia Lewis (Hanover Township, PA/Wyoming Seminary) finished in 76th place with a 30:49.90, and not far behind was Mara Adams (Mehoopany, PA/Tunkhannock Area) in 78th place with a 31:30.60 time. The last two participants for the Colonels were only separated by a half-second. Ava O'Shield (Hoschton, GA/Mill Creek) was 80th overall with a 32:03.70, and Audrey Cornell (Clarks Summit, PA/Abington Heights) finished 81st overall with a 32:04.20.

The next stop for the Colonels is Gettysburg College as they will compete in the Aubrey Shenk Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 10 a.m.
