WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The Wilkes University men's wrestling team concluded competition at the 2026 Budd Whitehill Duals going 1-1 on day two of the event.
 
The Colonels dropped a 31-20 decision to host Lycoming College before finishing the weekend with a 35-17 victory over Oswego State. Colton Thorpe (Southington, CT/Southington) was named to the All-Tournament team after finishing the weekend 4-0 with all four coming on falls.
 
Wilkes saw three wrestlers earn wins in the loss against Lycoming. Thomas Longo (Montville, NJ/Montville) began the match with a fall over Evan Newman in 39 seconds at 125-pounds. Ryan Santiago (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) got into the win column with a 10-5 decision victory over Kobin Karper at 149-pounds, and Jaryn Hartranft (Catasauqua, PA/Catasauqua) followed with a 17-2 technical fall over Colby Seller at 157-pounds. Thorpe was the final Colonel winner in the match when he pinned Nando Ott in 2:12.
 
Wilkes took their final match of the day using six wins in the ten bouts all coming with extra points. Connor Kerwin (Totowa, NJ/Passaic Valley) began the scoring for the Colonels with a fall over Ben Burkhardt in 6:07 at 125-pounds. Samuel Kimmel followed at 133-pounds with a 19-2 technical fall over Garnet Fletcher. Santiago, Hartranft and Thorpe finished off the victory with three straight falls at 1:58, 1:14 and 2:07 respectively.
 
Wilkes returns home to host the PA/NY Duals next Saturday starting at 11:00 a.m. inside the Marts Center.
