WILKES-BARRE – Wilkes University men's soccer head coach Michael Piranian has announced that the team will host the Battle of the Barre Futsal Tournament on Sunday, January 25^th from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the McHale Athletic Center.

The tournament is open to boys from grades 8-12. Team registration costs $200 per team with a $25 discount for any group that enters additional teams. Each team is guaranteed four round robin games prior to bracket-style playoffs beginning, and there will be three divisions to allow all skill levels to participate.

Futsal is a fast-paced 5v5 (four field players and a goalkeeper) game played on a small court with a smaller ball that doesn't bounce like a regular soccer ball. Futsal is fast paced, It allows for many touches on the ball and is great for technical development for players of all ages.
