Wilkes Men's Swimming & Diving Sweeps Juniata Tri-Meet 
 
HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Wilkes men's swimming and diving team crushed the competition at the Juniata tri-meet this Saturday, defeating the Eagles 143-119 and the Warriors 198-44.

After Saturday's sweep, the Colonels improved to a 9-3 (LC 4-1) record while the Warriors fell to a 0-9 (LC 0-4) record.

Wilkes opened the day posting a second-place finish where the team of Jacob Piotrowski (Old Bridge, NJ/Old Bridge), Tobias Misinay (Somerset, KY/Pulaski County), Ashton Dainty (Scranton, PA/Scranton), and Owen Lewis (Ellicott City, MD/Howard) swam a 1:57.27 in the 200-meter medley relay.

The Blue and Gold set the tone by dominating the freestyle events, earning a podium finish in every race. Max Johnson (Clarksburg, MD/Clarksburg) and Jack DeLuca (Easton, PA/Moravian Academy) finished first and third in the 800-meter freestyle, while Leo Miller (Oak Forest, IL/Oak Forest) and Caleb Keener (Shrewsbury, PA/Susquehannock) placed second and third in the 200-meter.

The momentum continued in the shorter distances, as Lewis captured gold in the 50-meter freestyle and silver in the 100-meter. Johnson capped off the freestyle success with a first-place finish in the 400-meter.

Wilkes also claimed top-spots in the backstroke events with Max Wilson and Piotrowski placing first in the 100-meter and 200-meter respectively. Wilson also finished runner-up in the 100-meter butterfly. 

Misinay, Brady Rushton (Nanticoke, PA/Greater Nanticoke Area), and Joshua Robinson (Richmond, VA/St. Christopher's) sealed the second, third, and fourth-place spots in the 100-meter and 200-meter breaststroke.

Misinay claimed yet another first-place finish as he swam 2:23.42 in the 200-meter IM, while Piotrowski and Keener placed just behind him in third and fourth. 

To cap off the meet, Wilkes claimed the gold in the 200-meter freestyle relay where the team of Lewis, Wilson, Donato, and Johnson swam a swift 1:43.24.

Wilkes hosts Catholic University for their final meet of the regular season on Saturday, January 31st, at 1:00 p.m. at the Wyoming Catholic Youth Center.
