Wilkes Women's Swimming & Diving Splits Juniata Tri-Meet
 
HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Wilkes women's swimming and diving team split their tri-meet against Juniata and Lycoming this afternoon, defeating the Warriors 158-74 and falling to the Eagles 197-63.

Following Saturday's meet, Wilkes improves to a 6-6 (LC 3-2) record while Lycoming falls  to an 1-9 (LC 0-4) record.

Grace Cobb (Athens, PA/Athens Area) led the distance races with a second-place finish in the 800-meter freestyle (11:08.84) and a third-place finish in the 400-meter freestyle (5:25.19), while Emma Burlew (Effort, PA/Pleasant Valley) delivered a versatile performance with top-three finishes in the 50-meter freestyle (2nd/29.91), 200-meter freestyle (3rd/2:26.88), and 200-meter IM (3rd/2:48.25).

Izzy Sparaco (Macungie, PA/Emmaus) also found the podium three different times, placing second in the 200-meter butterfly (3:00.64) and third in the 200-meter backstroke (2:47.02) and 100-meter butterfly (1:19.72).

Meghan Sandt (Easton, PA/Easton Area), Brynn Ullerich (Omaha, NE/Marian), Emily Pironti, and Lea McCormick (Northumberland, PA/Shikellamy) each brought home third-place finishes for Wilkes, highlighted by Sandt in the 800-meter freestyle, Ullerich in the 100 backstroke, Pironti in the 100 breaststroke, and McCormick in the 200 butterfly. 

Wilkes capped off the day with a second-place finish in the 200-meter freestyle relay as the team of Ullerich, McCormick, Sparaco, and Burlew swam a time of 2:03.22.

Emma Miller (Wyoming, PA/Dallas) recorded scores of 252.70 in the 1-meter and 206.15 in the 3-meter dive, while Pearl Hunter (York, PA/Northeastern) posted marks of 152.00 and 154.50 in the respective events during an exhibition competition at the University of Scranton.

The Colonels host Catholic University for their last regular season meet on Saturday, January 31, at 1: p.m.
