COLLEGEVILLE, PA – The Wilkes University women's wrestling team finished in 12^th place at the 2026 Will Abele Invitational hosted by Ursinus College Saturday afternoon.

Wilkes finished with 26 total team points with one top-five finisher. Western New England University claimed first place while East Stroudsburg University took second place.
 
Gabriela Vasquez (San Antonio, TX/Conerstone Christian Schools) earned fifth place at 103-pounds for the Colonels. Vasquez started her day with an 8-2 defeat in the quarterfinals before earning a fall in 1:03 in her first consolation bout. She followed that with another fall in 2:14 before taking home fifth with a 4:00 pin of Faith Juwana in the fifth place bout. For the tournament Vasquez finished 3-1.
 
Wilkes is back in action next Saturday when the Colonels compete in the PA Collegiate Tournament hosted by East Stroudsburg University.
