Lesko Named Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week
TOWSON, Md. - Wilkes University men's basketball forward Lucas Lesko (Northampton, PA/Northampton) was named Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week for his stellar play in two games against the Royals and Greyhounds, as announced by the conference this afternoon.
This is the first time he's received the honor this season, and the fourth time overall for his Colonel career.
In a huge game against No. 21 Scranton, Lesko finished with 26 points, seven rebounds, and three assists on 10-18 shooting in a blowout 75-45 win, and then followed it up with a season-high 34 points and eight rebounds on 13-20 shooting in an 86-73 win over Moravian.
Overall, the senior forward averaged 30.0 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game on 60.5% shooting from the field and 91.7% shooting from the free throw line.Â
With the two wins, the Colonels improved to 11-6 this season and 6-4 in Landmark Conference play, and are currently the fourth seed with eight conference games remaining in the regular season.
Lesko and the Colonels return to the court on Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. for a matchup against the Lycoming College Warriors.
