Wilkes Women's Ice Hockey Ranked Fourteenth in Latest USCHO.com Poll
WILKES-BARRE – After eight weeks receiving votes, the Wilkes University women's ice hockey team has broken back into the USCHO.com Division III women's ice hockey poll at No. 14, as announced by the organization Monday afternoon.
This marks the first time the team has been ranked since they were ranked fourteenth in the November 3
rd poll.
The Colonels sit atop the Middle Atlantic Conference with a 15-1-1 overall record and 13-1-0 mark in conference competition, riding a 13-game unbeaten streak.
Wilkes averages 4.82 goals per game while only allowing 1.24 per game on the other end of the ice, both marks that lead the MAC. Their 82 goals through 17 games are the third most in the entirety of Division III.
Nina Hudakova (Košice, Slovakia/Hoosac Prep School) leads the offensive attack with a team-high 15 goals through 17 games, fourth in the nation with a 0.88 goals against average. Renne Ng (13) and
Haylee Bouchard (Sioux Lookout, ON/) (12) are the other Colonel forwards with double-digit scoring, with the latter leading the team and conference in assists (22).
Between the pipes, junior
Audrey Milne (London, ON) leads the MAC with a 1.33 goals-against average through 15 games and five shutouts and sits second with a save percentage of .940.
Wilkes closes a six-game road trip this weekend with conference matchups against Neumann University on Friday, January 30
th and Stevenson University on Saturday, January 31
st with puck drop scheduled for 5:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. respectively.
