WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University football team will play its final regular season game at Schmidt Stadium on Saturday afternoon when the Colonels welcome Moravian.

Saturday's contest will also serve as Senior Day for Wilkes football, with the Colonels honoring 17 seniors prior to kickoff.

Last week, the Colonels offense found its stride, scoring 34 first-half points in a 41–28 win at Catholic. In the win, Wilkes racked up season-highs in points (41), total yards (520), and rushing yards (276). The win moves the Colonels back to .500 in Landmark Conference play at 2–2 and 3–4 overall on the season.

Following the result, Wilkes quarterback Trey Dogmanits (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) received his first career Landmark Athlete of the Week on Monday. Dogmanits went off for 371 total yards and three touchdowns, throwing for 236 yards and finding receivers Juju Fears (Easton, PA/Easton Area) and Daniel Pigga (Dunmore, PA/Dunmore) for scores, and ran for 135 yards, including a 70-yard touchdown in the first quarter. Dogmanits has now completed 60 percent of passes for 1,447 yards and nine touchdowns, and added 380 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. Against Catholic, four of Wilkes' six touchdowns were for at least 40 yards, including a 47-yard reception and 62-yard run by Pigga. Freshman William Dougherty (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge) saw his first action at tailback, and ripped off a 43-yard score on his first career carry.  Fears found his stride back, catching seven passes for 122 yards after just 102 receiving yards in his past two games, putting his season totals at 662 yards and five scores. The performance is Fear's fourth 100-yard game of the season, and first since Juniata on Oct. 3

Wilkes' stars stepped up on defense in the win over Catholic. Linebacker Tyler Wetzel (Sellersville, PA/Pennridge) recorded 10 tackles, upping his season total to 75. Defensive lineman Cohen Creswell (Winchester, VA/Millbrook) continued to be disruptive in the backfield, recording three tackles for loss and two sacks. The junior's 12 tackles for loss are second in the conference and eight sacks sit atop the Landmark. Defensive back Mohamed Gueye (Jersey City, NJ/Snyder) and linebacker both forced fumbles, both of which were recovered by defensive back Rob Barbieri (Avoca, PA/Pittston Area). The Colonels also got some help from some less familiar names, including eight tackles from defensive back Dante Hamilton (Allentown, PA/Central Catholic), who entered Catholic with just one stop on the season.

On special teams, Peter Zarafonitis (Staten Island, NY/New Dorp) continues to lead the Landmark in punting average (42.2), punts inside the 20 (11), and 50+ yard punts (6). Zarafonitis also hit a 68-yard boot against Catholic, the longest by any punter in the Landmark this season.

Moravian sits at 2–6 overall are coming off a bye. The Greyhounds last played on Oct. 24 when their defense limited Catholic to a field goal, picking up a 27–3 win over the Cardinals. The win was Moravian's first in conference play, moving the Greyhounds to 1–3.

In the win over Catholic, the Greyhounds moved junior receiver Avery Koser over to quarterback. Koser completed 13 of 20 passes for 157 yards, and threw a 19-yard touchdown pass, and added 53 rushing yards and a score to his afternoon. Sophomore running back Dorian Thomas recorded his second 100-yard performance of the season, rushing for 141 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries. Thomas' 422 rushing yards are fourth in the Landmark, and his seven rushing scores are second in the conference, only behind Matt Surtz of Susquehanna. Koser leads the team in receiving with 348 yards, while Josh Ludlow is the top active target with 263 yards with two touchdowns.

Saturday's matchup features two of the top three tacklers in the Landmark, as Moravian senior defensive back Aidan Lane is third in the conference with 73 stops. Sophomore linebacker Tommy Gontz had a breakout performance two weeks ago, recording a team-best 11 tackles and an interception. Linebacker Jack Tosh leads the Greyhounds with 5.5 tackles for loss, and defensive lineman Kaelyb Barahona has two sacks.

The two teams met last season in Bethlehem on Oct. 11, 2025, when the Colonels scored the first 19 points in a 26–7 victory. Wilkes is 3–0 against the Greyhounds in Landmark matchups, with the Colonels averaging 38 points per game since joining the Landmark.

Following Moravian, the Colonels conclude their regular season with a potentially pivotal contest at Western Connecticut on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 12:00 p.m.
