Wilkes Men's Swimming and Diving Team Sets New Program Record on Day One of the Landmark Conference Championships

BALTIMORE, Md. - The Wilkes University men's swimming and diving team wrapped up the first day of the Landmark Conference Championships in fifth place out of 10 teams Thursday evening at the Mangione Aquatic Center.

Day One Results

Catholic is in first place after day one with 121 points, followed by Scranton in second with 106 points, and Drew rounding out the podium in third with 80 points. Susquehanna has a slight lead over Wilkes in fourth with 60 points, compared to 56 points for the Colonels. The five teams behind Wilkes are Elizabethtown (50), Juniata (50), Lycoming (40), Goucher (32), and Moravian (22).

The Colonels competed in the 200 medley relay and 800 freestyle relay, and finished in fifth place in both events.

 For the 200 medley, the team of Aston Dainty, Jacob Piotrowski (Old Bridge, NJ/Old Bridge), Maximilian Wilson (Manassas, VA/Seton), and Owen Lewis (Ellicott City, MD/Howard) ended with a time of 1:38.79, then Piotrowski, Max Johnson (Clarksburg, MD/Clarksburg), Leo Miller (Oak Forest, IL/Oak Forest), and Tobias Misinay (Somerset, KY/Pulaski County) set a new program record of 7:19.51 in the 800 freestyle.

They broke the previous record by 0.5 seconds, a record that had stood since the 2020 MAC Championships.

Wilkes looks to carry this momentum into day two of the Landmark Championships, starting tomorrow at 9 a.m.
