Miller Earns First-Place Finish For Wilkes Women's Swimming and Diving on Day Two of Landmark Conference Championships
BALTIMORE, Md. –
Emma Miller (Wyoming, PA/Dallas) brought home gold in the one-meter dive, as Wilkes remained in seventh-place out of 10 teams at the conclusion of day two of the Landmark Conference Championships at the Magione Aquatic Center on Friday evening.
Day Two Final Results
Miller made program history on Friday, becoming the first diver in Wilkes history to capture a Landmark Conference title with her first-place finish in the one-meter event. The first-year standout posted a winning score of 395.50, finishing 69.20 points ahead of the reigning diving champion.
Lea McCormick (Northumberland, PA/Shikellamy) also secured a spot in the "B" final of the 200-yard IM, finishing seventh in the final and 15th overall out of 30 swimmers. She finished with a final time of 2:23.36, shaving three seconds off her preliminary time in a strong closing swim.
The Colonels look to continue their push through the Landmark Championships tomorrow with day three scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m.
