Wilkes Men's Swimming and Diving Slips to Sixth After Day Three of Landmark Championship
 
LOYOLA, Md. – After spending the first two days in fifth place, the Wilkes University men's swimming and diving team slipped to sixth place at the end of day three at the Landmark Conference Championships at the Mangione Aquatic Center.

Day Three Results

Tobias Misinay (Somerset, KY/Pulaski County) started the day in fine fashion for the Colonels, setting a new program record in the 400-meter IM at 4:24.88, finishing fourth in the B final. He also finished in the B final of the 100-yard breaststroke later in the day.

Maximilian Wilson (Manassas, VA/Seton) also found himself a B final finisher, this time in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 55.02 and the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 56.53. Just two one-hundredths of a second behind Wilson in the backstroke was teammate Jacob Piotrowski (Old Bridge, NJ/Old Bridge) at 56.55.

To close the day, the team of Owen Lewis (Ellicott City, MD/Howard), Misinay, Wilson, and Ashton Dainty (Scranton, PA/Scranton) finished fifth in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:29.17.

In the team standings Wilkes fell to sixth place overall, now sitting behind Elizabethtown College by just 15 points.

Wilkes returns to the pool tomorrow for the final day of competition in the Landmark Championships, with the first session of the day scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m.
