Wilkes Women's Swimming and Diving Finishes Seventh at the Landmark Conference Championships
BALTIMORE, Md. - The Wilkes University women's swimming and diving team closed the book on their season with a seventh place finish at the Landmark Conference Championships Sunday afternoon at the Mangione Aquatic Center.
Final Results
Emma Burlew (Effort, PA/Pleasant Valley) was the headliner for the Colonels, qualifying for the 100 freestyle finals with a time of 56.04 in the prelims, and then earning a 13th place finish with a 55.42. Burlew's time was also a new program record by 0.7 seconds.
She then contributed to another program record later in the day. In the 400 freestyle relay, Burlew, Pearl Hunter (York, PA/Northeastern), Lea McCormick (Northumberland, PA/Shikellamy), and Brynn Ullerich (Omaha, NE/Marian) earned a fifth place finish with a 3:46.06, beating the previous program record by over two seconds.
In the 200 backstroke, both Ullerich and Izzy Sparaco (Macungie, PA/Emmaus) earned a spot in the finals with top 16 finishes. Ullerich came in 12th with a 2:23.40, and Sparaco was right behind her in 13th with a 2:33.52.
Lastly, Grace Cobb (Athens, PA/Athens Area) competed in the 1650 freestyle, and finished in 15th place with a time of 20:39.70, while Emma Miller (Wyoming, PA/Dallas) was recognized by the Landmark as the best diver of the meet.
