WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Wilkes men's volleyball team fell to the Marymount Saints in straight sets at the Marts Center Wednesday afternoon.

Following the match, the Colonels move to 10-10 overall and 0-2 in the Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC), while the Saints improve to 11-9 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

Wilkes dropped the match in three sets by scores of 25-19, 25-16, and 25-11. Marymount controlled the pace early in each set as the Wilkes offense struggled to find openings. The Saints posted a .471 hitting percentage with 41 kills on 68 attempts, while the Colonels recorded 25 kills on 70 attempts for a .200 hitting percentage. Marymount held the advantage in most statistical categories, with Wilkes leading only in blocks with five.

Aidan Hunter (Sinking Spring, PA/Wilson) led the Colonels offensively with 10 kills, while Logan Maha (Sayville, NY/Sayville) paced the defense at the net with a team-high five blocks. Joshua Conley (Chalfont, PA/Central Bucks South) directed the Wilkes offense with 18 assists, and Alex Derk (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge) anchored the back row with six digs.

Ethan Li and Brady Wiggers each recorded a team-high 10 kills for Marymount, while Diego Pena tallied a match-high 33 assists and added seven digs alongside Sam Cook.
Wilkes returns to the court on Saturday, March 14 when they welcome Rutgers–Newark to the Henry Gymnasium. First serve is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
