EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University men's lacrosse team posted its second straight home victory after the Colonels bested visiting Mount Saint Mary College 11-4 Saturday afternoon at Schmidt Stadium.

Wilkes improved to 3-4 overall on the year while Mount Saint Mary dropped to 1-3 on the season.

Anthony DiFrancesco (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) fired in six goals and one assist to lead the offensive charge for the Colonels. The first-year standout has totaled 13 goals over the past two Wilkes victories after a seven-goal performance in the win last week against King's.

Mount Saint Mary responded with three goals to start the second quarter tying the game at three with 11:57 left in the frame forcing a Colonels timeout. From there it was four unanswered goals by Wilkes including two more from DiFrancesco to put the hosts ahead 7-3 at the break.

Wilkes held a 45-20 shot advantage throughout while causing 30 Knights turnovers. The Colonels were also efficient in the clearing game finishing 21-for-24 on the day. Wilkes also converted on its two man-up advantages.

Caleb Miller (Mohrsville, PA/Schuylkill Valley) finished with five saves in goal for the Colonels recording his third victory of the season.
