Yamirelis Matos (Springfield, MA/Chicopee) has been named to the 2025-26 Academic All-District® Women's Basketball Team by the College Sports Communicators (CSC), as announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.
This marks the second consecutive season that Matos has been named to the award and second of her career overall.
To be chosen to the 2025-26 Academic All-District® Team, a student-athlete had to have been at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale), and must have competed in 90 percent of the games or must have started at least 66 percent of the games for their team.
Matos played in all 25 games for the Colonels this past season, starting 24, and led the team averaging 12 points per game. In January, Matos eclipsed the 1,000-point milestone for her career, becoming the thirteenth player in program history to achieve the feat.
In the classroom, the psychology and nursing double major earned a 3.69 cumulative GPA.
