Wilkes Women's Ice Hockey Wins Two Major Awards, Five Athletes Picked to 2025-26 All-MAC Team

NEWTOWN, Pa. – The Wilkes University women's ice hockey team collected two major awards and saw five student-athletes to the 2025-26 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) All-Conference teams, as announced by the conference office Friday morning.

Junior forward Haylee Bouchard (Sioux Lookout, ON/) was named MAC Player of the Year/Offensive Player of the Year, while head coach Dave LaBaff was named Coach of the Year. Bouchard, Nina Hudakova (Košice, Slovakia/Hoosac Prep School), and Hannah Franz (North Bay, ON/) earned first-team honors, while Audrey Milne (London, ON) was named to the second team and Tilly Wierdsma (New Hartford, CT) was named an honorable mention.

Bouchard earned her first Player of the Year award and second consecutive appearance on the All-MAC First Team after another stellar season, shattering the single-season assists record with a current total of 34, the second-most in the nation. Bouchard also ranks third in the nation in points per game, averaging 2.07 over 25 contests. She also contributed 17 goals to create a team-leading 51 points. The Sioux Lookout, ON native also set a new program record with four goals in a single game against Stevenson this season.

Hudakova earned her first All-MAC selection this season as the conference's leading goalscorer, lighting the lamp 22 times and setting a new single-season program record in the process. Her 0.88 goals per game puts her fifth in the nation. The Košice, Slovakia native also contributed 24 assists, the second most in the conference behind Bouchard.

Franz completes the First Team trio with her first All-MAC honor as a part of a defense that ranked first in the conference in goals allowed per game (1.12) and second in penalty kill percentage (.892). Franz sat tied for second on the team with 24 blocked shots and contributed 18 points on the offensive end with four goals and 14 assists.

Milne earned Second Team All-MAC honors after being named an Honorable Mention in 2024-25 and led the conference in goals allowed (26), goals against average (1.24), save percentage (.944), and shutouts (7).

Wierdsma was selected All-MAC for the second time in her career as an Honorable Mention after placing on the Second Team last season. The junior defender led the team with 27 blocked shots this year and contributed 17 points on the offensive end. The New Hartford, Conn. native also led the MAC in plus/minus at +41 on the year.

LaBaff earned his second-career MAC Coach of the Year award after leading the team to a 22-1-1 record in the regular season, with an unbeaten streak dating back to November 14th. With their win in the MAC Championship Semifinals, LaBaff and the Colonels set a new program record with 23 wins in a single season. Under his leadership, the team sits second in the nation in scoring offense (4.96 goals per game), third in winning percentage (.940), and fourth in team points (315), goals (124), and assists (191).
