Wilkes Men's Golf Drops Friday Tri-Meet against King's and Scranton
WILKES-BARRE – The Wilkes University men's golf team travelled to the Wyoming Valley Country Club Friday afternoon for a tri-meet with King's College and the University of Scranton, falling to the Monarchs and Royals 339-325 and 339-293 respectively.
Wilkes drops to 5-6-1 on the season with the pair of defeats.
Brady Noone (Exeter, PA/Wyoming Area) paced the Colonels with one of the five best scores by any golfer on the day, posting a team-low 79 (+7).
Jayden Bleiler (Walnutport, PA/Northampton) followed with an 84 (+12),
Trey Hilbert (Palmyra, PA/Palmyra) carding an 87 (+15), and
Daniel Nau (Wake Forest, NC/Heritage) posting an 89 (+17).
Easton Stafford (Broomfield, CO/Colorado Connections Academy) rounded out the Colonel scorers with a 93 on the afternoon.
Jack Novis and Richard Essen of Scranton shared medalist honors with a round-low 70 (-2) for the Royals, while Jeremy Layland fired in King's best round of the day with a 77 (+5).
The Colonels return to the course for their final tune-up before the Landmark Conference championships this Sunday, April 19
th, as they face the University of Scranton at Huntsville Golf Club. Competition is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
