EDWARDSVILLE – The Wilkes University men's tennis team closed out its 2025-26 season in fine fashion cruising to a 6-1 victory over cross-town rival King's College Friday afternoon at the Ralston Athletic Complex.
 
Wilkes finished the season with a 7-9 overall record following the final home win of the year. King's dropped to 1-12 overall on the season.
 
Wilkes earned the team point in doubles play thanks to wins from No. 1 Cole Riley (Louisville, KY/Xavier) and Sebastian Sylvester (Diego Martin, Trinidad and Tobago/The College of Lady Fatima) 6-1 and No. 2 Landon Gleichauf (Naples, NY/Naples) and Otarhe Okoh (Shakopee, MN/Shakopee) 6-0.
 
The Colonels then clinched the match with wins in five-of-six matches in singles play. Sylvester won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 followed by Riley's 6-1, 6-3 victory at No. 2. Gleichauf won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 while Okoh picked up a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 4. Xavier Bleiler (Mountain Top, PA/MMI Prep) finished off the singles winners for Wilkes with a 6-0, 6-0 straight set decision at No. 5.
