Mayerski is in his third year as an assistant coach for Wilkes. A 2008 graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Mayerski received his Masters in Business Administration from Wilkes in 2010.
The Wyoming Valley West product set five new benchmarks while in a Wilkes uniform. He is now the all-time leader in homeruns with 36, games played with 146, runs batted in with 167, total bases with 344 and sacrifice flies with nine.
In addition, he batted at a .336 clip for his career, while also compiling 173 hits, 41 doubles, 11 triples and scoring 132 runs of his own. He also had a .668 slugging percentage, a .428 on base percentage and a.938 fielding percentage while playing almost every position.
Mayerski garnered numerous awards on the diamond as well. The 2008 team captain was a four-time All-Freedom Conference performer, being named to the first team in 2005 and 2006 and the second team in 2007 and 2008, while also making the MASCAC Academic Honor Roll in each year he was eligible.
Mayerski was named to the Mid-Atlantic All-Region Third Team in 2006, the Division III Hitter of the Week on April 24th in 2006 by the ABCA, as well as the Player of the Week for the Freedom Conference on four separate occasions over the course of his career.
On top of all of the accolades, Mayerski’s biggest contribution came when he lead the 2007 team to its first ever Freedom Conference Championship which gave the Colonels an automatic bid into the NCAA Division III National Tournament.
